An advanced process, step by step.
Genetic preservation and cloning combine reproductive biotechnology with rigorous scientific control. We explain each stage clearly.
Genetic preservation
From the first consultation until the cells are cryopreserved.
Consultation and sample collection
We assess your case. Your vet takes a small skin biopsy, following our instructions, and sends it to our laboratory.
Laboratory processing
We isolate and culture the cells from the sample. When the culture is viable, we obtain fibroblasts.
Cryopreservation
We store the cells obtained at very low temperatures, so that they remain available in the future.
Cloning
A general overview of the procedure. The specific stages, requirements and timelines are confirmed for each species and each case.
Preserved cells. The process starts with viable, previously preserved cells from the animal.
Assessment. We study the feasibility of the case with you.
Nuclear transfer. The nucleus of one of the animal’s cells is placed into an egg cell from which the nucleus has been removed.
Embryo development. The embryo is cultured under controlled conditions.
Pregnancy. The embryo is transferred to a surrogate female of the same species.
Birth and follow-up. We continue to support you after the birth.
Preservation is not cloning
Preservation means storing your animal’s cells today. Cloning is one possible future use of those cells, but it is a separate service with its own process, timeline and assessment.
Storing viable cells from the animal
Producing a new animal from preserved cells
Can be done today, while the animal is healthy
A later decision, if you wish
Cryopreserved cell material
An animal with the same nuclear genetic information, with its own personality
Does not guarantee future cloning
Each case requires a specific assessment
