Animal genetic preservation
Preserve more possibilities for tomorrow, today.
We preserve your dog’s, cat’s or horse’s cells in our laboratory so that they remain available in the future.

What it is
A reserve of your animal's genetic information.
Genetic preservation means taking a small skin sample from your animal, growing its cells in the laboratory and storing them at very low temperatures (cryopreservation).
When the culture allows it, we obtain fibroblasts: skin cells that carry the animal’s genetic information and can multiply in the laboratory. These cells are then stored and remain available for possible future use.
It is a separate step: you can preserve today and decide later, without any pressure, whether you want to do anything else with the material.
01
What is preserved
Cells obtained from a skin biopsy and, when viable, fibroblast cultures. Hair, nails and teeth are not preserved, because they do not contain viable cells for this purpose.
02
What it can be used for
The preserved material keeps the animal’s genetic information and could be used in the future, for example in a cloning process, if you decide to go ahead and it is viable.
03
What it cannot promise
Preservation does not guarantee future cloning and does not replace any veterinary treatment. Viability depends on the quality of the sample and of the culture.
The process
What happens to the sample.
We support you from the first consultation until the cells are stored in our laboratory.
Advice. We assess your case and explain what you need.
Sample collection. Your vet takes a small skin biopsy, following our instructions.
Shipping to the laboratory. The sample reaches our laboratory under the required conditions.
Cell culture. We isolate and culture the cells and, when viable, obtain fibroblasts.
Cryopreservation. We store the cells obtained at very low temperatures.
Transparent pricing

- Cryopreservation of the cells obtained
Additional costs
- Biopsy carried out by your vet
- Sampling kit
- Transport of the sample to the laboratory
We tell you about these costs before you sign up.
Two different services
Preservation is not cloning
Preservation means storing your animal’s cells today. Cloning is one possible future use of those cells, but it is a separate service with its own process, timeline and assessment.
Genetic preservation
Cloning
What it is
Genetic preservation
Storing viable cells from the animal
Cloning
Producing a new animal from preserved cells
When
Genetic preservation
Can be done today, while the animal is healthy
Cloning
A later decision, if you wish
Result
Genetic preservation
Cryopreserved cell material
Cloning
An animal with the same nuclear genetic information, with its own personality
Guarantees
Genetic preservation
Does not guarantee future cloning

Cloning
On request
We work with dogs, cats and horses. If you have another species, get in touch and we will tell you whether it is possible.
Through a small skin biopsy taken by your vet, following our instructions. We explain the procedure before you start.
It includes cell processing and culture, fibroblast isolation when viable and cryopreservation of the cells obtained. It applies from the date the contract is signed.
It does not include the veterinary biopsy, the sampling kit or transport. We tell you about these costs before you sign up.
No. Preservation stores the cell material. Cloning is a separate service that requires a specific assessment and is not always viable.
In some cases it is possible, but time and how the sample is kept are critical. Call us as soon as possible on +34 633 87 21 83 and we will tell you what to do.
Cryopreservation allows cells to be stored for long periods. The specific storage conditions are set out in the contract.
